This is a temporary position running through winter quarter only, with an end date of Saturday March 21st, 2020.
There is a possibility that the position will be extended after that depending on departmental needs.



Job Description:

Data entry using catalogs, worksheets & sales orders. Assist computer store customers with computer related purchases. Print, sort & route reports. Receive packing list data and compare to purchase orders. Print receiving documents and tags. Assist computer buyers and staff with special projects as needed. Post completed paperwork and match reports. Assist in rotating, moving, and creating attractive merchandise displays. Assist with cashiering as needed.



Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to work in a retail environment, including cashiering. Demonstrated knowledge of Macintosh and Windows computers, tablets, and peripherals; demonstrated interpersonal skills. Excellent data entry, word processing, typing & 10-key skills. Familiarity with Office software applications. Prior experience in retail, merchandising, and creating displays preferred.



Special Conditions of Employment

Work schedule: up to 19 hrs/week Monday-Saturday (up to 30 hrs/week during summer). Must be able to work Saturdays, occasional Sundays, evenings, and holidays. Background check required. Working weekends is required.
Work-study preferred but not required.
Must Pay UCSD student services fees each quarter working.

Job Description:

General Observation & surveillance in all parts of the Bookstore. Utilize camera system to watch for shoplifting & other suspicious activities. Deter and prevent wrongful taking of property. Detain suspected shoplifters. Assist UCSD Police Department with detentions & arrests. Prepare & Maintain reports, maintain daily log book. Appear in court as needed. Assist in emergency situations as needed. Other related duties as assigned.



Qualifications:

Retail experience required. Ability to maintain confidentiality, able to observe, identify, and report situations clearly. Computer literate in PCs.
Must pay UCSD student services fees each quarter working.
Work-study preferred but not required.

Qualifications:

Must have a valid California Driver’s License. Must provide a copy of DMV driving record Print-out at the time of interview. Must pay UC student services fees for each quarter working. Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. Work-Study preferred but not required.
Must be able to work 4 hour shifts 2 to 3 days a week between the hours of 9 - 4, Monday – Friday and a minimum of 12 hours per week. Up to 29 hours during the summer. Background check required.



Duties & Responsibilities:

Drive Bookstore van to make deliveries to Bookstore branch facilities, the UCSD Medical Center, and all UCSD facilities on and off campus. Load and unload Bookstore van, ability to lift up to 70 lbs., and maintain security of merchandise. Package and log purchases for campus mail delivery, sort campus and in-house mail and deliver to appropriate areas in the store. Log in and prepare customer will-call messenger service packages. Break down boxes and general maintenance of assigned area. Strong organizational skills with the ability to accurately verify and log merchandise for delivery. Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers. Other duties as assigned.
