This is a Temporary position running October 21st – December 21st

Job Description:

  • Cashiering: Ringing customers out at the register.
  • Sales Floor: Putting merchandise out on the floor and helping customers. Processing sales orders. Greeting customers and showing them to product.
  • Receiving: Counting merchandise and accurately tagging items for the sales floor. Coordinating with sales staff shipment drop offs. Preparing shipments for on campus delivery. Assisting warehouse staff with organizing merchandise.
  • Perform other duties and assist in other areas of the Bookstore as needed and/or assigned.

Qualifications:

Some stockroom, warehouse, accounting, retail, library or bookstore experience helpful. Outgoing and creative personality essential. Must be able to demonstrate professional and organizational skills, attention to detail, and an overall high level of reliability and independence. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, dust, and move books and merchandise.Must Pay UCSD student services fees each quarter working.

Job Description:

Under supervision, the Sunshine Market cashier will perform clerical and manual related duties such as operating a cash register, cleaning out equipment, stocking and operating the coffee brewer. Primary responsibility of a cashier is serving the customer and processing their purchases:

  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers and answering their inquiries
  • Handle cash and card transactions using the cash register and credit card machine
  • Keep a clean and organized checkout area and sales floor
  • Operate the coffee and prepared foods (hot dog/soup) stations, including cleaning
  • Maintain aisles by stocking product and organizing shelves
  • Ensure proper operation of refrigerators and freezers by recording temperatures

Work Schedule:

Varied -

  • Up to 19 hrs/week
  • Monday-Thursday between 7:00am and 9:15pm
  • Friday 7:00am and 6:15pm
  • Saturday 11:00 am and 5:15pm
  • Sunday 11:00 am and 5:15pm

Qualifications:
